Don’t get sucked into the social pressure this Holiday Season with regards to your food and wellness plan. Stick with it while allowing for a few special treats. I find a reward system to be fun and effective for my Nutritional Coaching clients as well as myself. Set daily goals that reward with a treat. Some nutritionists might really hate that I am saying this but I do not look at food as a DIET. Matter of fact, I hate that word, because it evokes a temporary mental status. Eating well, balanced, healthy and tasty food should NOT be temporary, rather it should be vital. What you eat affects your physical appearance and your overall health by 80%. Don’t “diet” eat well and treat yourself with love during this season.
Living in someone else’s box is no fun, it becomes a prison. BE you, BE Healthy and BE Beautiful. I sometimes feel pressure as a chef to be the expert at everything food related. Let me tell you that is very overwhelming and just like anything else- you got to find YOUR voice in all the boxes and ways people define you. YOU have to define YOU and influence others to agree. Yes I am an expert professional and private chef with 30 years experience, I am an expert at flavor pairing and finding spices that marry, I am a great nutritional coach and have the ability to transform any high fat dish to a prescribed dietary restriction and make it taste amazing. I am an awesome cheerleader with regard to rehabbing your food relationship but I am not God and know everything. I am a curious and a constant learner and love to share my food thoughts. So, now that my box is defined, I hope you enjoy defining yours and treat yourself with care this Holiday.
