Hi I am Chef Joy,

as a private chef working with special diets for past 14 years, I have witnessed the anxiety surrounding food with my client and decided to merge culinary and psychology degrees to provide non-traditional culinary therapy that specifically addresses your food anxiety through cooking from a professional Chef’s Perspective.

1. What is “CULINARY ARTS THERAPY”?

Culinary art therapy is a relatively new method used by some health care clinics and counselors to treat diverse groups of people. Some groups who have been helped by culinary art therapy include individuals with eating disorders, depression, addiction, and anxiety. Individuals with autism, learning disabilities and ADHD have also benefited from culinary art therapy.

I have seen it’s value time after time, as I privately work with clients through the act of cooking and teaching components of a meal and in my own life. Cooking is beneficial to the whole body and it engages the five senses! It is a very powerful healer.

2. How it works?

After a one on one consultation, clients are led through a customized program specifically designed for them or their family addressing their specific food anxiety and will work privately with me through a series of private cooking focused on health and wellness.

3. What is the Anxiety Client faces?

Anxiety is a dirty word that most do not like to admit. Food Anxiety is not talked about but everyone has a strong relationship to food. I want to talk about it and help repair your food relationship.

Cooking is amazingly powerful as It heals, reconnects us to our heart center, provides comfort, relieves stress and anxiety, and brings together our loved ones. It is an organic creative outlet to express yourself and eat well by providing control over the ingredients used and methods of cooking.

Welcome to my kitchen where we cook together and squash the stress you feel by breaking down the cooking process then get to eat a nice home cooked meal.

Online Portal with Your specific food anxiety 1/Weekly Lesson on overcoming anxiety re: food one new step/ tool for overcoming anxiety.

1 weekly cooking demo video all around your food anxiety and incorporate step for change w/ Recipe and Grocery lists.
(Reading recipes, recipe modifications, answer general asked questions)

PLUS CLOSED FB GROUP forum where open discussions and community can be built.

1 Positive Reinforcement focus/ day via FB Group
